Using PoliStock on Mobile: A Practical Guide

How to get the most out of PoliStock on your phone. Learn push notification setup, mobile alert management, Warren AI on the go, and Natural Language Orders from your phone.

Using PoliStock on Mobile: A Practical Guide

Most significant market-moving events do not happen during convenient desktop hours. The PoliStock mobile app is designed so that when a major announcement hits, you are alerted and can act — whether you are commuting, traveling, or simply away from your computer.

Here is how to get the most out of PoliStock on mobile.

Setting Up Push Notifications

The single most important step in your mobile setup is configuring push notifications correctly. Alerts you never see are worthless; alerts you ignore because there are too many of them are just as bad.

Enable Notifications on Your Device

After installing PoliStock, you will be prompted to allow notifications. Enable them — this is the core delivery mechanism for real-time event alerts.

If you previously declined:

  • iOS: Settings → PoliStock → Notifications → Allow Notifications
  • Android: Settings → Apps → PoliStock → Notifications → Enable

Configure Notification Priority in the App

Inside PoliStock, you can adjust which alert types generate push notifications and which are collected silently for you to review later.

The goal is to get push notifications only for events that actually warrant immediate attention — those affecting your specific holdings at meaningful impact levels. Less urgent monitoring (broader sector trends, legislative tracking) can go to a daily summary rather than immediate push.

A practical starting configuration:

  • Immediate push: Events directly affecting companies in your connected portfolio
  • Silent collection: Broader sector and macro monitoring you review at day’s end

Adjust after a week of actual use. If you are getting more than 5-10 notifications a day and most are not actionable, narrow your triggers.

Managing Alerts on Mobile

The Alert Feed

PoliStock’s main feed shows your recent alerts in reverse chronological order, with AI-generated context for each. On mobile, you can:

  • Scroll your alert feed to review what has come in since you last checked
  • Tap any alert to see the full AI analysis: which stocks are affected, historical context, and Warren’s assessment
  • Mark alerts as reviewed to keep your feed manageable

Alert Volume Management

If you are seeing too many alerts on mobile (the most common issue), the fix is narrowing your volatility triggers — not disabling notifications entirely.

Go to your trigger settings and:

  1. Remove any overly broad keyword triggers (single words like “tariff” or “regulation”)
  2. Replace them with more specific phrases (“pharmaceutical pricing legislation”, “semiconductor export controls”)
  3. If you connected a portfolio, make sure portfolio-relevance filtering is enabled

The goal is a trigger set narrow enough that almost everything that gets through is worth your attention.

Warren AI on Mobile

Warren, PoliStock’s AI financial consultant, is fully available on mobile. When you receive a push notification about an event, the fastest workflow is:

  1. Tap the notification → opens the full event detail
  2. Scroll to Warren’s analysis → read the AI assessment
  3. Tap “Ask Warren” to follow up with specific questions

Example follow-up questions on mobile:

  • “Which of my holdings are most affected by this?”
  • “What happened to this sector the last time this type of regulation was passed?”
  • “Is this the kind of event that typically moves markets immediately or over weeks?”

Warren’s answers will include historical context drawn from the 16,000+ events database — giving you real data to inform your decision rather than just speculation.

Pro vs. Free: Warren on Mobile

Free tier: Basic Warren responses — useful for general context and definition questions

Pro tier ($4.99/month): Full Warren analysis — detailed stock impact reports, historical precedent lookup, portfolio-specific analysis, and more thorough responses to complex questions

Natural Language Orders on Mobile

Natural Language Orders allow you to define trades in plain English that execute when specific conditions are met. On mobile, you can both create new NLOs and monitor the status of existing ones.

Creating an NLO on Mobile

Navigate to Natural Language Orders in the app, tap the + button, and type (or dictate) your order in plain English:

  • “Sell 20 shares of [stock] if the Senate passes drug pricing legislation”
  • “Buy $500 of energy sector ETF if oil import tariffs are announced”
  • “Reduce my pharma allocation by 10% if FDA issues a major warning affecting [company]”

PoliStock will parse your order, confirm what it understood, and ask you to review the conditions before activating.

Reviewing NLOs on Mobile

The NLO screen shows all your active orders and their current status. On mobile, this is particularly useful for:

  • Confirming orders are still active before expected events
  • Canceling or modifying orders when circumstances change
  • Reviewing what triggered since your last check

Mobile-Specific Tips

Check During Pre-Market

The 30 minutes before market open (9:00–9:30 AM ET) is the highest-value time to check PoliStock on mobile. Any overnight developments will be reflected in your alert feed, and you have a window to act before trading begins.

Morning mobile routine:

  1. Open PoliStock
  2. Scroll alert feed since last check
  3. If anything significant: read Warren’s analysis, decide whether to act
  4. Review any NLOs that may have been triggered

Minimize Do Not Disturb Conflicts

If you use Do Not Disturb modes on your phone, make sure PoliStock has notification permissions set up appropriately for events that matter to you. A missed alert during market hours can mean missing the event entirely.

iOS: Settings → Focus → (your DND mode) → Apps → Add PoliStock as allowed Android: Settings → Notifications → Do Not Disturb → Exceptions → Add PoliStock

Use Dark Mode for OLED Phones

PoliStock’s dark mode reduces battery drain on OLED screens (iPhone OLED models, most flagship Androids). Enable it in Settings → Display → Dark Mode.

Biometric Login

Enable Face ID or Touch ID for fast access — particularly useful when you receive a push notification and want to get to the full analysis quickly without typing a password.

Settings → Security → Enable Biometric Login

The Mobile Workflow: What to Do When an Alert Arrives

Here is the recommended workflow when a PoliStock push notification arrives during the day:

Step 1: Read the notification preview Most alerts will tell you the event and which stocks are affected. Decide in 10 seconds: Does this require immediate attention or can it wait?

Step 2: If urgent — open immediately Tap the notification → Read the full event detail → Read Warren’s analysis → Decide whether any of your NLOs cover this situation or whether manual action is needed

Step 3: If not urgent — flag for later Open the app at your next natural check-in time (lunch, end of day), review the alert with Warren, and decide whether any action is warranted

Step 4: After any decision — note why Developing a habit of noting why you acted or did not act helps you build better alert configurations over time. If you frequently ignore a certain type of alert, that trigger needs adjustment.

Common Mobile Issues and Fixes

Notifications not arriving

  1. Check that notifications are enabled in phone Settings for PoliStock
  2. Check that you have not exceeded the 3-trigger limit (free tier) — alerts only fire for active triggers
  3. If on free tier, note that analysis is 30-minute delayed (alerts arrive up to 30 minutes after the event)
  4. Upgrade to Pro for zero-latency alerts

App performance issues

  1. Force-quit the app and reopen
  2. Check for app updates in the App Store / Play Store
  3. If issues persist, delete and reinstall the app (your account data is stored server-side)

Portfolio not syncing

If your connected brokerage portfolio is not showing current holdings on mobile, pull down to manually refresh, or check your brokerage connection in Settings → Brokerage Accounts.
